From a company profile in Capital IQ. (see access details), select Public Ownership under Investors in the left-hand menu. Select Individuals/Insiders from the Ownership Summary table see additional details. Use the Insider Trading tab to find insider transactions.

  • To screen for firms by criteria related to insider ownership, select Companies under the Screening tab. Company Ownership is an underlying category, including Insider Ownership and Insider Trading.

Use LSEG Workspace. From a company's record, select Ownership, then Insider Report.

See the Ownership section in the left-hand menu of a public company profile in PitchBook; click the Insiders tab.

There are several files on WRDS (see access details) that include data related to insiders:

  • 2iQ
  • Factset Ownership
  • Thomson/Refinitiv Insiders
  • Insiders Data by WRDS

Use Bloomberg (see access details).

  • For specific insider holdings, type the ticker symbol of the equity you want, hit the yellow <EQUITY> key and hit <GO>.
    • Choose Company Overview, then in the Management Overview section, select Management's Holdings.
    • Select the company name from the list of securities to view company executives and board members and their percentage of company shares outstanding. Click an individual's name and navigate to the Reported Holdings section of their bio to access more information.
  • To access the Holdings Menu on Bloomberg, type the ticker, hit the <EQUITY> key. Then, type PHDC and hit <GO>. Choose Insiders, Sorted by Size or Insider Transactions.
  • For stocks that have experienced the most purchases and sales by insiders:
    • Type INSD and hit <GO>.
    • Use the fields at the top of the screen to select country, time period, and type of transaction.
    • Click on a stock to display a graph of its historical prices with date of insider transactions.

For insider information before 1984, look at the Official Summary of Security Transactions and Holdings (SEC)- call number: HG 4556 U5 A33. Lippincott Library owns 1935-2000.
