No!  Automatic overdue emails are sent based on the status of your request in our software systems.  If the item has not been discharged from your library account you remain responsible for the item and any late or lost fees.  If you are receiving overdue notices for an item you think you returned please first check your shelves thoroughly.  If you cannot find the item reply to the email so that staff will have all your details in order to investigate.  Common reasons for this situation include having ordered more than one copy of a title or having several items with similar titles.  It's also important not to lend items borrowed on your account to others.  You are still responsible if the item is lost by someone else.
