When lending libraries copy journal articles using a scanner, they occasionally scan some of the pages upside-down. If the journal is small enough so that two pages can fit on one 8.5 by 11 page, the article may be scanned in sideways. PDF viewing programs, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Pro, have built-in tools which allow you to rotate or otherwise adjust pages.
