Yes, but library users are strongly encouraged to search the Franklin Catalog for items in the physical collection. Most of the card catalog has been converted to online records and new records have not been added for many years. The remaining cards represent the following kinds of material:

  • The old serials catalog (contained in the 38 red-labeled drawers following Z call numbers)
  • Some materials in special collections. (author/title/subject cards)
  • Pre-1940 publications that may have only have very brief records in Franklin
  • Microform titles and serials (main entry cards)
  • Items in non-Roman languages (main entry cards)
  • Prints and Hearings (U.S. Congress)
  • Some details about the serials holdings ("in" and "bound with" cards)
