Question & Answer
| Question: | Where are there quiet study areas in the libraries? |
| Answer: |
- Van Pelt Dietrich Library Center:
- Room 503 (5th floor, southeast corner) - a new "quiet study" room, equipped with temporary tables and chairs as we await delivery of new furniture.
- Study carrels around the perimeter of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. Graduate students and seniors can "borrow" them for a year, but if it's not in use, feel free.
- Current Periodicals, 1st floor East end. Comfortable chairs, couches, and study tables equipped for laptop computer use (including PennNet connection). Laptop cables available at the Circulation Desk.
- Class of 1937 Lounge, 5th floor, behind the elevators. *VERY* comfortable couches. Don't fall asleep. Across the hall from the 5th floor computer lab.
- Lee Lounge, 1st floor, just to the left as you enter. Comfortable chairs. Nice area for reading, but since it's next to the entrance and the elevator, not conducive to serious study.
- Reference Dept, 1st floor, straight ahead as you enter. Study tables equipped for laptop computer use (including PennNET connection). Also extremely nice study carrels and easy access to Reference Librarians.
- Want a small-group study area? Check out the group study rooms in Lippincott, 2nd floor west wing, two on the 4th floor east wing and several in the Goldstein Undergraduate Study Center and Weigle Information Commons. Sign-up online . See the Group Study Rooms page for more information.
- Biomedical Library: With the exception of the Circulation and Reference areas, most other areas in the Biomedical Library are quiet. There are study carrels around the perimeter of the Ground and Blue floors.
- For locations in other libraries, ask at their reference/circulation desks or contact them directly.
