For Philadelphia residents or visitors, The Free Library of Philadelphia has extensive newspaper collections as well as research guides for genealogists. They have research guides for genealogists and a description of their newspaper collection online.
You may also want to contact or visit the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
If you're not in the Philadelphia area, please consult your local library for assistance.
