The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) shares monthly and quarterly HPI (House Price Index) and volatility data. Look under Datasets.

Sage Data offers graphed and downloadable data.

  1. Select Browse Data by > Subject > Housing and Construction.
  2. Along the left, scroll down to expand House Price Index.
  3. Select a dataset, period, and geography of interest.

In Bloomberg (see access details), type ALLX SPCS and hit <GO> to access the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index. The index provides data for the US and for large metro areas back to 1987.

Existing Home Sales from National Association of Realtors provides sales statistics and supplemental market data with breakouts such as condo, co-op, and existing homes.
